Synthetic hair extensions aftercare

Synthetic extension care

When you follow these simple guidelines to maintain your extension hairstyle they will continue to look and feel natural for up to three months.

Brushing
Your new hairstyle should be brushed daily. Before brushing, apply a light mist of synthetic conditioning spray that will maintain the condition of your hair and extensions. Only use a padded, soft bristle brush, never use a ball tip brush or comb, these can pull and damage your extensions. Ask your stylist to show you the correct brushing technique. Avoid pulling your extensions with the brush when they are warm.

Shampooing and Conditioning
Before washing your hair brush through thoroughly. Use shampoo formulated for synthetic hair or a good quality alcohol free shampoo. To retain the wave in your extensions shampoo and rinse in cool water. After shampooing use a small amount of conditioner, rinse thoroughly in tepid water.

Drying and Styling
Allow your hair to air dry for best results. When using a hair dryer select a warm (not hot) setting and use a diffuser. If setting a blow dry style use the cold setting. Heated rollers work well and will provide a long holding curl if you allow them to cool completely before taking down. Use a curler one size smaller than the finished curl you desire. Avoid using heated styling tools. You may use any of your normal styling products with your extensions, (hairspray, mousse, gel, etc.)
