Thank you for choosing an Our Little Secret product. If you follow these care instructions you will enjoy a longer lifespan and a more realistic product and therefore will need to replace your piece less often.

All Our Little Secret wigs and hairpieces are made from the highest quality monofibre, which is colourfast and retains it’s style after washing. The longevity of your piece depends on factors such as length, curl pattern and number of times per week/month it is worn. The average lifespan is 9 to 12 months but proper care and maintenance can double the life of your piece.

We recommend fibre hair products for monofibre hair which are available from us.

The best guides to when a wig or hairpiece should be washed are: Does it smell of cigarette smoke or pollution? Do you feel the cap is dirty? Has it a build up of conditioner or dust i.e. is it tacky to the touch?

For straight hair : Brush gently from the ends upwards with a cushioned brush. If tangled or damaged spray with conditioner first.

For curly hair : Untangle individual curls from any matting and then brush each tangled curl gently from end to root. Twist the curl around your finger to smooth it back into shape. Do not touch neat/intact curls. Never let tangles build up as you will not be able to get curl pattern back.

Always brush through before washing. Washing: Fill a basin with tepid water and add a capful of shampoo. Add your piece and leave it to soak for 10 to 15 mins. Swirl gently around basin. Never rub hair. Take the piece out and refill basin with clean water. Immerse the piece and rinse well. Remove from water and pat dry with towel. Let piece drip dry. When completely dry spray with conditioning spray and style.

Never use hairdryers/ curling tongs/ heated rollers or any heated appliances on monofibre hair. If you have any enquiries please do not hesitate to contact us.
